Who is William Castillo?

Bill Castillo is a native of New York City who moved to Florida where he discovered massage therapy.  In 1996, he became a licensed massage therapist in the state of Florida and nationally certified in therapeutic massage.  In 1997, Bill continued his education and became Certified in sports massage (AMTA 1997–2001) and continued his education in orthopedic massage with his mentor James Waslaski.  He has served as a TA for Mr. Waslaski since 2000.

Mr. Castillo has been Certified as a Group Instructor and kickboxing instructor as well as a personal training with AFAA (2004–2007).  Bill currently works in a physical therapy department as a clinical manual therapist with a group of doctors including Osteopathic, Chiropractic, Sports Medicine, and Physical Therapy.  He has taught in Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, the Virgin Islands, and other massage schools in the United States.  He has demonstrated his techniques in the Utah AMTA & Puerto Rican Physical Therapy Association Convention (2008, 2006).  He also holds an annual cruise in the caribbean where he teaches his seminars.

Many professional, college, and high school teams, including NBA and beach volleyball, have used Bill's proficiency, as well as several Hollywood celebrities.  He is also a certified personal trainer with the National Strength and Conditioning Association.  He is currently pursuing his Bachelor's Degree in Health and Exercise Science.  Bill is continuing Education Provider with NCBTMB.

His intense training in orthopedic/sports massage as well as corrective exercise has helped him develop “Orthokinetic Therapy”.  Orthokinetic Therapy is a proactive therapy that corrects musculoskeletal dysfunctions by inducing a change in the equilibrium point of each joint.  Orthokinetic treats muscle strains/sprains, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, cervical dysfunctions, Frozen Shoulders, nerve impingement, Lateral/Medial Epicondylitis, SI joint pain, Pelvic imbalances, Tendinitis, joint restrictions, Meniscus pain, ankle sprain, Planter Fascitis and much more.  Orthokinetic Therapy came to him slowly during ten years of deep intense searching for the correct combination of modalities that would assess, treat, and correct all defaults found in joints and musculoskeletal dysfunctions.  He felt frustrated that some therapists were being too passive in their patient/client treatment.  He is a firm believer in active therapy, meaning that the patient/client must actively be engaged in their therapy by using contractive movements to the muscles and joints being treated.  His therapy is different than your usual therapy.  He considers himself a manual therapist, in contrast to a standard massage therapist.  He has had the fortunate blessing of being surrounded by many respected doctors including Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs), MDs, Chiropractors, Athletic Trainers, and Physical Therapists that have taught and guided him toward a higher level of experience and skill.  These individuals have contributed to his “Orthokinetic Therapy” protocols.  He invites you to attend his seminars and experience for yourself the therapy first hand.
